The aim of the conference is to create awareness among the people about current Position of “FINANCIAL SECTOR” in India.Keeping in view both the contemporary relevance and fundamental importance of issues relating to the financial sector. The global financial crisis which is still underway has replaced assertions of what is the right model of financial sector and has imparted great uncertainty to what it should ideally be. Most countries, especially those who were leading the way for others like U.S.A, U.K, and Europe have embarked on a mission to reform their financial sector, while a group of 20 of leading countries of the world is attempting coordination of policies at global level. In this scenario of heightened uncertainty and simultaneous search for optimal models of financial sector, in global community and at national levels, it is useful to look at where we in India stand and what we should be doing or not doing.

ONE DAY WORKSHOP ON “SEQUENCE ANALYSIS” By Department of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics
Bioinformatics Community of Department of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, Padmashree Dr. D.Y. Patil University, is pleased to inform you that a One Day workshop on “Sequence Analysis” in being organized. This workshop is the first of a series of workshops which are aimed at giving complete hands-on experience in various tools and techniques used in the field of Life Science and Bioinformatics. “Sequence Analysis” Session is aimed at giving practical experience on the basic methods of handling biological sequences using bioinformatics tools. Both under-graduate and post-graduate students can participate in this workshop. Interested candidates from Research Fraternity as well as faculties from various areas of Life Sciences are also welcome. We hope that this workshop will provide fairly good amount of knowledge about handling of biological databases and analysis of the sequences which is essential in all fields of Life Sciences today.
